Welcome to Okanagan Metis & Aboriginal Housing Society

About us

Our Company

OMAHS begins with its Board of Directors, the majority of which are Indigenous or Métis.  This leadership ensures that OMAHS remains grounded in community values and responsive to the housing needs of Indigenous and Métis peoples, as well as non-native people. The Board of Directors govern a  diverse portfolio of housing programs while providing strategic oversight, accountability, and culturally informed guidance. The Board oversees the OMAHS staff which consist of the Administrator/Executive Director and the supporting team responsible for day-to-day operations and program implementation. We are governed by and operate in conjunction with our original operating agreements which  outline the roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes of all parties involved.

Customer Testimonials

Thank you OMAHS for all your hard work on helping to ensure a safe and respectful neighbourbood and community! We appreciate all the effort and love!

It gave me a sense of respect and dignity that I haven't come across in any other place I lived. Thank you for giving me and so many others a sense of safety and accomplishments in their lives.

I'm grateful for the comfortable and well-maintained home you've provided; I wanted to express my sincere thanks for being such a great landlord.
