Nissen Crossing
It was OMAHS' dream, lead by our long time president, Mr. Larry Nissen, to erect affordable housing adjacent to our current townhouses at 115 Gerstmar Road. Larry was a tenant at 115 Gerstmar many years before he became the president of OMAHS. After living in the complex, he became an advocate for affordable housing throughout BC. As such, Nissen Crossing will be remembered as Larry's legacy.
Nissen Crossing contains bachelors, one and two bedroom units. These units will be offered at or slightly below then current market rents. Of those, only nine 2 bedroom unit are subsidized. .
The OMAHS office is now located in the Nissen Crossing Apartments at 150 Kneller Road.

115 Gerstmar Road
Phase I located at the northeast corner of Gerstmar Road and Highway 33 is strategically located within 1.5 km west of the Willow Park Centre shopping mall, 2.5 km west of the Plaza 33 shopping mall and within close proximity to restaurants, parks, shopping and transit. Gerstmar Road and Highway 33 are paved thoroughfares inclusive of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk. The site is improved with paved driveway and parking stalls, concrete walkways extending from each unit to driveway, playgrounds and chain line fencing.
The Gerstmar Road property is improved with 28 two-storey wood frame townhomes contained with seven clusters. The 1989 constructed townhomes are developed over a full basement and include 16 3-bedroom and 12 4-bedroom units. Exclusive of the unfinished basement area, the 3-bedroom suites range in size from 965 sqft. to 977 sqft. while the 4-bedroom suites range from 1,123 sqft. to 1,149 sqt. Each unit includes foyers, living room, kitchen, dining room and washroom on the main floor, while the upper floor contains bedrooms and a 4-piece washroom. Phase III is located on the south side of Ingram Road between Elliott Road to the west and Brown Road to the east and south of and across from Westbank, which is located approximately 14 km west of the City of Kelowna via Highway 97.
The Ingram Road property is improved with 42 one and two-storey wood frame townhomes contained in 13 clusters. The 1992 constructed townhomes are developed over a full basement and include 19 two-storey 3-bedroom units including two handicapped units, and 23 two-storey 4-bedroom units. Exclusive of the basement area, the 3-bedroom units range in size from 878 sqft. to 1,000 sqft., while the 4-bedroom units comprise 1,095 sqft. Each unit includes foyer, living room, kitchen, dining room and washroom on the main floor, while the upper floor contains bedrooms and a 4-piece washroom. The two 3-bedroom handicapped units contain one full bathroom only. Features include an attached storage room located within the front covered entrance area, smoke detectors on all levels, and rear concrete patios accessible from the dining room.
